Alex Machado has over a decade of engineering experience across utility and vendor environments, with expertise in substation automation, grid modernization, IEC 61850 communications, OT networks, Python-based engineering automation, and cybersecurity. He spent more than six years at Southern California Edison (SCE), progressing from Grid Data Analyst to Substation Automation Engineer, where he designed substation network architectures and validated IEC 61850 interoperability among multi-vendor devices. He later joined Siemens as a Systems/Cybersecurity Engineer, testing emerging substation technologies and leading OT penetration testing initiatives. At Tesco Automation, Alex applies this multidisciplinary background to design secure, reliable solutions that support grid modernization.
